Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was accorded a warm and grand reception upon his arrival in the State of Qatar, as evidenced by the lavish welcome extended to him by the Emir of Qatar, His Highness, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently kicked the ball rolling in Qatar where he is currently on a state visit to the Middle-East nation.

Tinubu and His Highness, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, met on Sunday in Doha, as they both signed historic agreements, opening a gateway for leveraging the potential of cooperation in pivotal sectors of education, enterprise development, investment promotion, youth empowerment, mining, tourism, and sports.

In a statement by presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu assured his host of Nigeria’s preparedness to welcome investors into the country, noting the ongoing reforms that favour innovation, return on investments, and multiculturalism.

On his part, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, highlighted that Qatar is accessible to President Tinubu’s push for investment. He recalled that in 2019 Tinubu visited Nigeria because he considered that country to be a vital and strategic partner both on its own and about its role in regional affairs.

The trip to Qatar by the Nigerian leader was marred by controversies after reports emerged that that the government of Qatar rejected President Bola Tinubu’s request to visit the country for a business and investment meeting.

While reacting, the presidency declared that a letter that contained the widespread information was leaked by mischief makers, while adding that the president would proceed to Qatar on the state visit as scheduled.
