BUA Group Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, announces 50% salary increase for all staff
The BUA Group, has announced that the company has sanctioned a 50% salary boost for all employees.
This was contained in an internal memo signed by Mr. Mohammed Wali, BUA’s Head of Human Resources, in Lagos on Sunday.
The memo cited the BUA chairman, Abdul Rabiu Samad, as stating that the salary increase aims to alleviate the economic hardships currently experienced in the country.
Nigeria’s economy is facing its tough moments as inflation continues to rise, jacking up the prices of food, transportation and other services.
The company said the salary increment would cover both permanent/regular and non-permanent staff with effect from Feb. 1, 2024.
“Sequel to the above development, the Human Resources and Finance departments are processing the increase to ensure that it is captured in the February 2024 payroll.
“It is hoped that with this magnanimous gesture, we will be more committed to our duties and put in our very best to justify the confidence reposed in us,” the memo said.
