The Federation of International Football Association says it has received three bids to host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The bids to host the prestigious competition include a joint one from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, who first disclosed their interest in hosting in October 2020.

Other bids came from Brazil and a joint submission from Mexico and the United States.

South Africa, the only country in Africa to nurse the ambition, withdrew their bid in November to focus on the 2031 World Cup.

A Statement from world football’s governing body said: “As part of the most robust and comprehensive bidding process in the history of the Fifa Women’s World Cup, Fifa will now conduct a thorough evaluation process, including on-site inspection visits.”

The winning bid will be decided by a vote at the Fifa congress in Bangkok on 17 May 2024.

Spain beat England in the final of the 2023 World Cup, held in Australia and New Zealand.
