Gov AbdulRazaq passes 2 bills to Kwara Assembly
In a bid to promote quality education and enforce environmental sanitation practices in Kwara, State Governor AbdurRahman AbdulrRasaq has passed two bills, viz., Kwara State Education Trust Fund Amendment Bill 2023 and Environmental Protection Agency Amendment Bill 2023, to the House of Assembly.
The Governor revealed this on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
He mentioned that the education bill is to “amend the bill for more efficient management of the trust fund created by law to streamline membership of the board of trustees and staffing of the trust fund towards achieving cost saving and enhancing efficiency.”
He added that the new environmental bill will increase the fines for violators of sanitation law under sections 34 to 50 of the principal law in order to ensure proper waste disposal / management within the State.

Recall, Governor AbdurRazaq has embarked on some environmental protection projects in the recent times, clearing all hipped debris and flower maintenance along the main roads of Ilorin, the State’s capital.
“Culprits would be convicted or tried with a maximum fine of Fifty Thousand Naira or six months imprisonment for individuals and One Hundred Thousand Naira fine for corporate bodies,” the Governor said.
