Southeast governors meet Lagos Igbos, pledge to intervene in tribal predicaments
The Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, the Enugu State Governor, H.E. Peter Mbah, and others have met with the resident Igbos to intervene in addressing the challenging factors inhibiting the growth of their businesses in the state.
This was unveiled in a statement on Friday, June 30, 2023.
While at the meeting, the Igbo community appealed to the governors “to intervene with the center to help their businesses thrive alongside their host state and encourage other groups who plan to move businesses to the southeast region but are hindered by the insecurity and transportation challenges, especially extending the construction of a railway system to the Southeast region.”

Addressing the demands of the Lagos-based Igbos, Governor Uzodinma enjoined them to support the President Bola Tinubu led administration for continued national unity, peace and progress and promised to make use of all possible means, including meeting with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to address their business challenges in the host community.
Also in attendance was the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu.
