President-elect Tinubu embarks on working visit to Europe

The President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed the country for a working visit in Europe.

Tunde Rahman, the Media aide of the President-elect disclosed on Tuesday, May 10, 2023.

According to him, Tinubu will use the opportunity to make adequate preparations ahead of the May 29 transition to power.

“He will use the opportunity of the trip to finetune the transition plans and programmes, and his policy options with some of his key aides without unnecessary pressures and distractions,” Rahman said.

He added that the President-elect will also use the tour advantage to collaborate with foreign investors in order to make his administration business-ready through friendly policies and regulations.

Highlighting the President-elect’s plan, the media aide mentioned his lined up aspirations to meet with multi-sectoral actors in Europe’s business community including manufacturing, agriculture, tech and energy.

‘Tinubu hopes to convince them of Nigeria’s readiness to do business under his leadership through mutually-beneficial partnerships premised on jobs creation and skills acquisition.

“Reviving the country’s economy forms a major plank of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and the meeting is part of his efforts to re-establish Nigeria’s importance in the global economic chain and create empowering opportunities for the country’s huge youth population,” the media aide added.

Buttressing the plans, “Asiwaju Tinubu has hitherto promised to hit the ground running and the visit is reflective of his commitment to the promise as he has already begun talks with global actors in the important areas of the economy and security,” said Rahman.

The media aide further mentioned that Tinubu has met with the APC presented candidates for House of Representatives Speaker and Deputy Speaker Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Hon. Benjamin Kalu by the Joint Task Team of the House.
