Expectant mother, Adenike Adewunmi-Adebisi, dies at 50 after years of childlessness, Nigerians express shock
An expectant mother, Adenike Adewunmi-Adebisi, has died. The social media influencer died months to the celebration of her golden jubilee.
Her death was disclosed by friends and relatives on social media. She died early hours of Thursday.
While reacting to the sad news, her friend, Rita Egwu, stated that “All Adenike Adewunmi-Adebisi, wanted was a child of her own. For 20 years she waited. She finally got pregnant.”
“This morning she complained of shortness of breath and died before she could get to the hospital. Her plan was to celebrate the birth of the baby with her 50th birthday later this year,” she added.
Also sympathizing with the family and friends of the deceased, the CEO of Muslim Media Cooperation, Mutiu Olawuyi, expressed shock over the death of the easy-going woman.
“Anyone that had come across this lady, virtually or physically, will confirm to you that she was indeed angelic, cool, caring, kind and lively. She was loved even by those sharing different political ideologies with her,” he said.
He added, “While preparing to mark her 50th birthday with her unborn baby, whom she suffered to conceive for almost 20 years of her marriage, the angel of death suddenly took her away.”
Deji Yusuf maintained that the death of Adenike Adewunmi-Adebisi is a sad story pointing to the age-long relationship on the Facebook platform.
“I sympathise with family and friends of Adenike. I pray the good Lord gives you all the fortitude to bear the loss. The Bible teaches that the house of mourning is better than the place of feasting. It helps the living to examine their ways. My prayer is that this examination will include weighing whether or not we all have found peace with God through Jesus Christ,” he said.
Commissioner Ministry of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Ondo State, Mrs. Bamidele Ademola Olateju, wrote, “I Will Be Missing You, Adenike Adewunmi-Adebisi.”
She added, “Pacifist, demure humorist and she whose disharmonious dance steps is as amusing as it is enthralling. I know of no one else on Facebook like you. You were one of a kind. I am gutted! Shocked beyond thought. I just know that heaven was made for people like you.
“Your transition has proven to me yet again; bí a ti pé aá rí tí a bá wá’yé làá rí. We had no opportunity to try. It was too quick. May you journey well my lady. I will be missing you.”
