Osun State University Inaugurates Ultra-Modern Senate Building

Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Osogbo, has inaugurated a new ultra-modern Senate Building, a landmark project expected to transform academic administration at the institution.
The edifice, funded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and constructed by Wazlat Engineering Limited, was inaugurated at a ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries, including the Chairman of TETFund’s Board of Trustees, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari; the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Architect Sonny S.T. Echono; Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke; and the Vice Chancellor of UNIOSUN, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye.
The Chief Executive Director of Wazlat Engineering Limited, Engr. Ismaheel Ademola Adigun, who oversaw the execution of the project, was also present.
Awarded in September 2022 and with its foundation stone laid on February 2, 2023, the building has now been completed and handed over as a symbol of excellence in educational infrastructure.
Features of the new Senate Building:
A 250-seater Senate Chamber and 150-seater Council Chamber
103 offices across three floors
Two modern conference rooms
Two elevators and 10 staircases for accessibility
86 toilets for staff and visitors
Dedicated offices for principal officers, including the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Bursar, and Deputy Vice Chancellors
Stakeholders at the event hailed the building as a milestone for UNIOSUN, praising the collaboration between TETFund, the university, and Wazlat Engineering. They described it as a model of functionality, durability, and aesthetics, built to global standards.
Now serving as the administrative hub of the university, the Senate Building is expected to enhance governance, inspire academic growth, and stand as a legacy of vision and partnership in Nigeria’s higher education sector.
