The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially revised the commencement date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), moving it forward by a day.

The exam will now begin on Thursday, April 24, 2025, instead of the earlier announced Friday, April 25. This update was made public via a statement signed by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, and posted on the Board’s official X handle on Saturday.

“The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is now set to commence on Thursday, April 24, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of Friday, April 25, 2025. This adjustment has been made to accommodate essential commitments by the Board and its partner agencies,” the statement partly read.

As part of preparations, JAMB announced that candidates can now print their Notification Slips from Saturday, April 19, 2025. These slips contain critical information including the examination date, venue (centre), time, and other important guidelines to ensure a smooth testing experience.

Candidates are instructed to visit www.jamb.gov.ng, select ‘2025 UTME Slip Printing’, enter their registration number, and click ‘Print Examination Slip’.

JAMB emphasized the importance of visiting assigned centres ahead of time: “It is strongly advised that candidates print their slips and familiarise themselves with their examination centres at least one or two days before the examination date.”

The Board also confirmed that no candidate will be posted outside their chosen examination town.
