Windstorm Destroys 70 Houses in Plateau, Residents Call for Government Aid

A powerful windstorm swept through Mabudi, Sabon Gida, and other communities in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State, leaving at least 70 houses and barns in ruins.
The storm, which struck on Wednesday night alongside heavy rainfall, caused extensive damage, blowing off roofs and causing several buildings to collapse.
Some of the residents of the affected communities described the destruction as devastating and urged the state government to provide urgent relief.
Confirming the incident, Langtang South Council Chairman, Hon. Nanfa Nbin, issued a statement through his media aide, Mr. Iliya Bako. He stated that the Local Emergency Management Committee, established by the council, had already visited affected households to assess the damage and offer sympathies.
Residents now await government intervention as they struggle to rebuild their homes in the aftermath of the disaster.
