Saudi Authorities Urge Pilgrims to Prioritize Worship Over Phones, Call Against Photographing of Women

As the month of Ramadan draws to a gradual end, the Saudi authorities have issued a heartfelt appeal to pilgrims performing umrah, urging them to set aside their phones and focus on acts of worship.

In an official statement shared on the Haramain’s Facebook page, the authorities emphasized the importance of fully immersing in the sacred experience

They also called against capturing of women in the holy place of worship which has become popular in recent years

The statement reads:

As you experience these sacred moments, we kindly ask you to put your phone away during worship. Let your heart capture the moment instead.

Also, please remember that filming or photographing women is not allowed under any circumstances. Let’s all do our part to respect each other’s privacy and the holiness of this journey.

Thank you for understanding.”

The  message serves as a reminder to uphold the sanctity of worship, maintain mutual respect, and embrace the spiritual essence of the journey during this blessed season.
