Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his frustration after his side’s spirited performance in a 2-2 draw against Liverpool, lamenting the lack of similar intensity in recent matches.

United’s Lisandro Martinez opened the scoring, only for Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah to turn the tide. However, Amad Diallo secured a late equalizer in the 80th minute.

While pleased with their improved display, Amorim admitted he was “mad and upset” by the inconsistency. “I get more mad because of the other games,” he said, urging his players to build on this result. “This is not about the system, the technique, it’s about something else…”

Despite praising their teamwork against Liverpool, Amorim acknowledged deeper frustrations. “I am upset today, really upset. I am pleased with the performance, but everyone today is going to say that the team did a good job. Today I am allowed to be the only guy upset with the team — but today we were a team.”

He reflected on United’s inability to sustain momentum, citing their impressive victory against Manchester City earlier in the month. “We had some good games during this last month, but then we dropped again. It’s something that we need to be really consistent,” Amorim emphasized.
