Niger: Gov. Bago sympathizes with traders over Gwari Market fire disaster
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed his heartfelt sympathy to traders affected by the fire disaster at Gwari Market in Minna, which destroyed numerous shops and goods worth millions of Naira.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago described the incident as both “unfortunate and heart-wrenching,” expressing deep sorrow over the loss of livelihood suffered by the traders, particularly during such challenging economic times.
He acknowledged the pain of losing one’s means of income and extended his deepest sympathies to those affected.
The Governor encouraged the victims to remain steadfast, reminding them that despite the hardships, they should trust in the will of the Creator, who has the power to replenish all that was lost in the disaster.
Governor Bago directed relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to swiftly investigate the cause of the fire, with the aim of preventing future occurrences. He also emphasized that immediate relief efforts would be put in place to assist those impacted by the disaster.
Reassuring the public, Governor Bago reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing the well-being of the people of Niger State.
