Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has launched a scathing critique of UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch, accusing her of rejecting her Nigerian heritage and family ties.

In a post on X, Fani-Kayode said that Badenoch had disavowed her parents, siblings, and Nigerian lineage, urging her to formally erase her maiden name, Adegoke, from the records.
“She does not want to identify with us, and we do not want to identify with her,” Fani-Kayode wrote.

Expressing his disdain, he labelled Badenoch as “the devil incarnate” and “public enemy number one” of Nigeria, suggesting her remarks about the country’s corruption and governance had crossed a line.
“She sees us as being corrupt and evil and we see her as being the devil incarnate and the spawn of satan. There can be no fellowship between us.

Fani-Kayode called on Badenoch to focus solely on UK politics, particularly her dealings with the ruling Labour Party and Prime Minister Keir Starmer, rather than making comments about Nigeria.

“The truth is that she is no longer a mere irritant or the inconsequential object of our contempt and ridicule but she can now be comfortably and legitimately described as ‘public enemy number one’ of our beloved nation.

“She should stick to the affairs of her UK, face its ruling Labour Party and its Prime Minister Keir Starmer @Keir_Starmer and leave Nigeria alone!”

The fiery comments add to a growing backlash against Badenoch’s recent criticisms of Nigeria’s corruption and insecurity, which have sparked polarized reactions among Nigerians, with some defending her right to critique her experiences while others accuse her of denigrating her roots.
