Ex-Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello to be arraigned in Abuja court today
Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello is expected to appear before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama today, November 27, for arraignment.
Bello, accompanied by his legal team, voluntarily presented himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday. Following his submission, the anti-graft agency detained him for further clarifications and preparations ahead of his court appearance.
The case is expected to be heard by Justice Maryan Anenih, who had earlier scheduled November 27 for arraignment based on a request from the EFCC.
Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, confirmed that the former governor would be arraigned before the FCT High Court, though he refrained from disclosing further details about the charges.
