A courageous self-appointed traffic marshal in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub, has won the hearts of many Nigerians on social media for his fearless stance against traffic violators, including a high-ranking official in a black Toyota Hilux.

In a viral video, the unidentified individual is seen bravely standing his ground, directing the driver to reverse and adhere to traffic rules.

The footage shows the self-appointed marshal firmly upholding traffic regulations, refusing to yield to the occupants’ status, while numerous private and commercial vehicles are stuck in the congested traffic.

His bold actions have earned him widespread praise and admiration from Nigerians online.

Millions of Lagosians struggle daily with heavy traffic in what shows a repeated test of both patience and resilience.

Lagos’ traffic crisis is fueled by its breakneck urbanisation and underdeveloped infrastructure.

With 1.6 million vehicles clogging the roads daily, the city’s limited road capacity is stretched to the breaking point, leading to chronic congestion and lengthy commutes.

@LA_daLord commented “I appreciate him for standing on what’s right. I saw some people trying to convince him to allow rule breakers have their way. This is the kind of reorientation we need to do for Nigerians before we can see progress.”

Bright Edafe also said, “God bless this chap. People might query why he using Force. Nigerians prefer Force and that’s what make our job as Police officers more cumbersome. God bless him.”
