Kwara: Former lawmaker Aliyu Ahman Pategi defects to APC from PDP
Hon. Aliyu Ahman Pategi, former lawmaker and founder of Ahman Pategi University, has made a significant political move by joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State.
Pategi, a three-time member of the House of Representatives, representing the Edu Moro, Pategi Federal Constituency of Kwara North, brings a wealth of legislative experience to the APC.
During his tenure, he served as Chairman of the House Committee on Water Resources and also chaired the Legislative Budget Research Committee. He contributed to various committees, including Appropriation and Commerce, demonstrating his commitment to legislative governance.
Pategi’s decision to switch parties marks a notable development in Kwara State’s political landscape, potentially reshaping the dynamics of the upcoming political contests in the region.
In 2018, Mr Aliyu Ahman-Pategi declared his intention to run for the Kwara State Governor’s seat.
He said the people of the state would be his primary focus adding that if he became the governor, he would establish a state employment and labour agency.
