“Fulani are terrible people, a major problem in Nigeria. British amalgamation no longer conducive” — Sunday Igboho
Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho, a prominent Yorùbá nation agitator, delivered a fervent call for the restructuring of Nigeria, challenging the efficacy of the British amalgamation during the burial ceremony of his mother in Ibadan on Saturday.
Having recently returned from exile in Germany, Igboho asserted that the “forceful” British amalgamation, which formed the foundation of Nigeria, is no longer conducive to the nation’s well-being.
He passionately expressed his commitment to the Yorùbá nation, citing the need to address the ongoing violence perpetrated by the Fulani community against Yorùbá people.
“The Fulani people are terrible people. They are the ones destroying this nation,” Igboho declared, highlighting the disproportionate representation of Fulani individuals among Nigeria’s presidents.

He emphasized, “Out of the sixteen presidents we have had, there were thirteen Fulani people among them. Enough is enough. This country is in the hands of the Yorùbá people. I am a confirmed Yorùbá man.”
In a plea to President Tinubu, Igboho urged support for the establishment of a robust security outfit to safeguard Yorùbá territories, including farms, against terrorist attacks.
He stressed the critical importance of securing lives and properties, calling for a restructuring of the nation.
“I want to use this avenue to appeal to President Tinubu to support our agitation for the creation of local security to protect our people. Also, President Tinubu should restructure this nation. The British marriage can no longer work,” he asserted.
Expressing gratitude to traditional rulers in Yorùbá land for their support, Igboho concluded his address, underscoring the urgency of addressing the current challenges and fostering a more secure and equitable future for the Yorùbá nation.
