Obasanjo, Peter Obi grace Chimamanda Adichie’s children’s book launch in Lagos
In a captivating literary affair that brought together political heavyweights and renowned intellectuals, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, graced the launch of a captivating children’s book crafted by the illustrious author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
The event, held on Friday in Lagos, witnessed an impressive turnout of distinguished Nigerians, all gathered with a shared commitment to enhancing the reading culture among the nation’s youth.
Peter Obi, sharing snapshots of the occasion on his X page, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative aimed at fostering a love for reading among Nigerian children.
In a social media post, Obi said, “Yesterday, I joined other very respected Nigerians at a remarkable event aimed at improving the reading culture of Nigerian children.” The event, aptly titled ‘Christmas Magic,’ was a grand unveiling of Adichie’s latest literary creation, “Mama’s Sleeping Scarf.”
The luminaries present at the event included not only Obasanjo and Obi but also prominent figures such as Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed, Prof Hakeem Bello-Osagie, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Bella Disu, Ndidi Nwuneli, and Chimamanda’s husband, Ivara Esege, among others.
