Dubai Police have concluded a highly successful three-day awareness campaign, named ‘Anonymous Messages’ 2023, at City Centre Mirdif.

The initiative aimed to strengthen community bonds and educate the public about the perils of engaging with or responding to anonymous messages promoting narcotics.

At the closing ceremony, Major General Eid Muhammad Thani Hareb, alongside Colonel Abdulrahman Sharaf Almamari and other officials, emphasized the positive outcomes of the campaign.

Major General Hareb commended the community’s active involvement, citing increased reports through the official Dubai Police App as evidence of the campaign’s effectiveness.

The campaign provided attendees with valuable educational resources, free consultations, and engaging panel discussions.

Major partners contributing to the event’s success were duly acknowledged, underscoring their pivotal role in achieving the campaign’s objectives.

Hareb reiterated the campaign’s focus on raising awareness and providing constructive consultations to combat the risks associated with anonymous messages.

He cautioned against responding to such messages and stressed the importance of heightened parental oversight to educate children about the potential dangers.

Almamari emphasized the multifaceted goals of the campaign, ranging from educating the public about electronic threats to promoting safe online behaviour.

The campaign sought to equip citizens with knowledge and tools to recognize and handle anonymous messages effectively, emphasizing the need for reporting through official channels.

First Lieutenant Ahmad Saeed Al Kaabi of Hemaya International Centre expressed gratitude for the support from campaign partners, including City Centre Mirdif, Erada Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation, and the Tourist Police Department.

Al Kaabi highlighted the pivotal role of communication and reporting through the toll-free hotline 901 and the ‘E-crime’ service, showcasing the community’s commitment to enhancing overall security.

The ‘Anonymous Messages’ 2023 campaign stands as a testament to Dubai Police’s commitment to proactive community engagement and safeguarding against the dangers posed by illicit narcotics promotion through unsolicited texts.
