Gov Radda holds emergency meeting amidst deteriorating security in Katsina
With a view to finding a lasting solution to the increasing level of insecurity in Kaduna State, Governor Dikko Radda held a closed door emergency meeting on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
The closed-door meeting took place at the Council Chamber of the Katsina State Government House in Katsina.
It would be recalled that Katsina State, like many other states in the Northwestern Nigeria, is facing serious insecurity from terrorism, banditry and kidnapping for ransom.
Last month, the State Government through the senior special assistant to governor on media and publicity pronounced its readiness in engaging 2,400 youths to curb the menace.
“On Friday, July 7, 2023, the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Faruk Lawal-Jobe, launched the distribution of forms to the LG chairmen whose LGAs have been battling with insecurity.
“The forms will be subsequently distributed to able-bodied youths who are willing and ready to take part in the protection of the lives and properties of their community members,” the statement stated.
During the meeting, Governor Radda commanded an emergency security stakeholder meeting to examine ways of restoring normalcy and permanent peace to the State.
