NiDCC Conference in Washington Signals Bold Economic Push Toward Lagos Launch
The Nigerians in Diaspora Chamber of Commerce (NiDCC) has concluded a landmark conference at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, D.C., laying the groundwork for its Lagos Grand Project Launch in December 2025.
With the theme “From D.C. to Lagos: Shaping the Future of Business,” the meeting attracted diplomats, diaspora entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and development finance experts.
Ambassador Samson Itegboje highlighted Nigeria’s demographic advantage and investment potential, while NiDCC CEO Patience Ndidi Ofure Key stressed that the Chamber’s work transcends Nigeria: “Our platform exists to connect people, capital, standards, and markets across Africa.”
NiDCC previewed five core initiatives designed to catalyze trade and investment, including a diaspora-backed capital facility, AfCFTA-focused export accelerator, and programs for women and youth empowerment.
Thought leaders urged diaspora investors to seize the moment. Karl Cureton framed the shift as “Trade, not aid, is dignity and equality,” while others stressed infrastructure, cultural intelligence, and inclusive growth as pillars of sustainable development.
The Lagos launch in December is expected to seal commitments into bankable outcomes, marking a new phase of diaspora-driven prosperity.
