Video: 2Baba announces separation from wife Annie, says Instagram account not hacked

Afrobeats singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, shocked his fans on Sunday with an announcement revealing that he and his wife, Annie Idibia, have been separated for a while and have filed for divorce.

The announcement was made in a video shared on his Instagram story, where he stated, “Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while and have filed for divorce.”

In the same video, 2Baba mentioned that he would soon release a statement to clarify his side of the story, saying, “I would grant a press release soon to say my story—not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people, and I need them to know my innocence or offence. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all.”

However, the situation quickly took a dramatic turn. Shortly after the video, an Instagram post appeared claiming that his account had been hacked and that he was working to regain control.

The post read, “My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control. #onelove!”

In a surprising twist, another post followed, stating, “Hey, my people, nobody hacked my account; I said what I said. I come in peace.” This caused further confusion and stirred controversy among his fans.

2Baba and Annie tied the knot in 2013, after years of dating, and have two children together. Their relationship had been celebrated, but this latest revelation has raised many questions about their personal life.
