Oluwo sympathizes with Iwo Muslim community over Chief Imam’s death
Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo, has expressed sadness over the passing of Sheik AbdulFatahi Olododo, the Chief Imam of Iwoland.
He described his death as a great loss for the Muslim community in Yorubaland.
At the same time, Oba Akanbi expressed his condolences to the whole Muslim community of Yorubaland, the Oluwo Central Mosque, and the Fojugbagi compound of Iwoland at the passing of the late Islamic leader.
According to him, the late Imam preserved Iwo’s unquestionable position in Islamic history and was the pure embodiment of Islam in Yorubaland.
He said, “I mourn the death of the Chief Imam of Iwoland, Sheik AbdulFatahi Olododo. His demise is a colossal loss to Islam. I commiserate with Oluwo Central Mosque, Fojugbagi Compound, Iwoland and the entire Muslim Community in Yorubaland.
“Iwo has a unique Islamic history. The reign of Olododo was firm in upholding the Islamic status of Iwo. He was an unadulterated face of Islam.
“He became the Chief Imam on fairness. Many worked against his choice but I stood with truth. I will continue to toe the path of honour in making any appointment.
“I pray to God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljana Firdaus.”
