Mudirul Markaz’s led League of Imams and Alfas declares Ishola as Yoruba, Edo, Delta Grand Mufti

Sheikh Abdul-Rasaq Abdul-Azeez Ishola has been appointed as the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States by the League of Imams and Scholars headquartered in Ibadan, Nigeria’s southwest.

The newly appointed Mufti is a Nigerian world-class Islamic cleric with unique achievements after immediate past Mufti Sheikh Amzat Uzaen Dohaak alikruuniy.

He was born by an itinerant Muslim cleric and brought up in Ilorin, Kwara State, north-central Nigeria, where he had his early Arabic Islamic education and gained consciousness for self-development in various socio-spiritual and Islamic aspects of life.

Reports say he is highly inspired and mentored by the works of the late Sheikh Adam Abdullahi Al-Ilory (from Nigeria), Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi (from Egypt) and (Professor Sano Qutbu al Mustapha (from Guinea).

Until his formal appointment, Sheikh Abdul-Rasaq Abdul-Azeez Ishola is the Founder and Principal of Uthman Bin Affan Academy an Arabic and Islamic School located in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria.

The Uthman Bin Affan Centre is a specialized consulting outfit for Islamic guidance and counselling, aimed at spiritual growth and upliftment of individuals, groups and communities as well as alternative dispute resolution programme for families and communities.

He is also an active member of several national bodies, including the National Moon-sighting And Fatawa Committee, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA),  League of Imams and Alfas in the Southwest, Edo and Delta States (Robitat-ul-Aimmah Wal “Ulama) Nigeria, Co-Chairman: South-West Moonsighting Committee (Ibadan), Technical Member, Lagos State Moonsighting Committee (Lagos), IT Committee, Islamic Crescent Observation Project (UAE) among others.
