Somalia: President Hassan Mohamud leads delegates to IGAD’s 41st Extraordinary Session in Djibouti City
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia has landed in Djibouti City, leading a distinguished delegation to partake in the 41st Extraordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Assembly.
Commencing today, the assembly convenes leaders from the Horn of Africa to collectively address significant regional challenges and promote cooperation at a time when the region is battling with climate-related troubles.
President Mohamud’s presence at the IGAD session underscores Somalia’s dedication to regional collaboration, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in addressing shared concerns. The IGAD Assembly, consisting of member states Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda, plays a pivotal role in fostering peace, stability, and economic development in the region.
