Tragedy: Ex-President Buhari mourns army victims in Niger
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the Nigerian Army and the bereaved families of the military officers who died in a tragic helicopter crash and bandit ambush in Niger state.
It was a collosal loss to the Nigerian Army and our dear nation at large as the helicopter crash, which claimed 11 lives followed the deaths of 25 soldiers from bandits ambush, making a total of 36 military officers.
Garba Shehu, spokesperson for the ex-president expressed his heartfelt condolences today, August 19, 2023.
“I am saddened by the helicopter accident, following the tragic ambush in which we have lost our brave army personnel. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I hope those injured recover at the earliest.
“My heartfelt condolences to the President Bola Tinubu, the Armed Forces of the Federation and the families of the deceased.
“With the soldier-discipline in our troops, it is a matter of time before they overcome,” the former President said.
