Blast kills 21 miners in Columbia
A blast has claimed not less than twenty-one miners in Columbia.
According to a report, the horrifying and tragic accident first claimed 10 lives, but the number of victims later rose to 21.
It is tears-provoking that before today’s explosion, the country had witnessed several mine blasts, the report says.
Expressing his sorrow, President Gustavo Petro said, “Despite all the efforts of the rescue teams, unfortunately, 21 people lost their lives in this tragic accident in Satatausa.”
“My thanks to every one of the rescuers who during these two days gave their body and soul to the rescue work Sutatausa,” he wrote.
“Our hearts are broken,” he added.
“Each work fatality is not only a business failure but also a social and governmental one” he concluded.
