NDLEA Arrests Businessman Who Excreted 127 Wraps of Cocaine at Kano Airport, Uncovers Meth in Ceramics Bound for UK

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 52-year-old businessman, Ejiofor Godwin Emeka, at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano, after he excreted 127 wraps of cocaine concealed in his private part and stomach.

Ejiofor, who operates boutiques in Lagos and Onitsha, Anambra State, was intercepted on arrival from Bangkok, Thailand via Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 941 on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, following credible intelligence.

A body scan conducted on him confirmed the ingestion and concealment of illicit drugs. Operatives recovered 58 wraps of cocaine from his underwear, after which he was placed under observation. He later excreted 69 additional pellets in seven separate excretions, bringing the total number of wraps to 127, weighing 1.388 kilograms.

Meth in Ceramics, Cocaine in Handbags: Courier Firms Under Watch

In Lagos, NDLEA operatives intercepted three consignments of illicit drugs heading to the United Kingdom at a courier company between Thursday 9th and Friday 10th October.

The first shipment contained 1.74kg of methamphetamine cleverly hidden in glass ceramics. The second comprised 114 grams of pentazocine and 168 grams of tramadol injections, while the third concealed 48 grams of tramadol capsules in a Vitamin C container.

Other foiled export attempts included 2.6kg of skunk and 422 grams of tapentadol disguised as black soap tablets bound for Turkey; 169 grams of cocaine hidden in ladies’ handbags heading to Australia; and 568 grams of Loud (a potent strain of cannabis) concealed in herbal containers destined for the United Arab Emirates.

Similarly, 27,510 pills of Rohypnol disguised in sachets of alcoholic drinks bound for South Africa were seized at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja. A follow-up operation at Oyingbo Market led to the arrest of Samuel Omoruyi, 46, alias Yellow, described as the mastermind of the shipment.

On the same day, NDLEA operatives arrested Enehizena Augustine Uyimwen, an Italy-based businessman, while attempting to export 3,700 pills of Tramadol 225mg and 2,600 tablets of Tapentadol 200mg concealed in food items to Europe. He reportedly claimed he was trafficking the drugs for a fee of €945.

More Arrests and Seizures Across States

In Edo State, a raid on the residence of Emmanuel Sunday, 33, at Ugbekpe Ekperi, Etsako Central LGA, led to the recovery of 47kg of skunk. In Osun State, operatives arrested Nureni Ayobami Eleweodo, 48, and Oladejo Taiwo, 52, with 635kg of skunk in a Toyota Hiace bus at Omifufun village, Ife South LGA. Two other suspects, Timothy Omiwole, 41, and Isaac Achiatan, 36, were also arrested at the same location with 100kg of the same substance.

In Rivers State, Okoro Julius, 20, and Onyebuchi Nwibo, 25, were apprehended in separate operations in Port Harcourt with 8.5kg of skunk, while Sulaiman Kalalu, 46, was arrested in Katsina State after NDLEA operatives found 29.5kg of the substance in his home at Bayan Asiti, Jibia town.

In Niger State, Yisa Daniel, 29, was arrested at New Bussa with 22,000 capsules of Tramadol, 800 ampoules of Pentazocine, and 150,000 pills of Exol-5. In Ondo State, 312kg of skunk was recovered from a forest at Ologede camp, Ogbese, while two suspects — Francis John, 39, and Adeyemi Taiwo, 46 — were caught with 141.8kg of skunk along the Benin–Lagos expressway.

In Kaduna, Rufai Ahmed, 27, alias Farin Malam, was intercepted at the Abuja–Kaduna toll gate with 150,000 pills of Exol-5 being transported from Lagos to Katsina.

NDLEA Sustains WADA Sensitization Nationwide

Meanwhile, the Agency continued its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization campaign in schools, worship centres, and communities across the country. Beneficiary institutions during the week included:

Girls Secondary School, Nenwe, Awgu LGA (Enugu)

Sacred Heart Secondary School, Kabba (Kogi)

Ebenezer Model Secondary School, Onitsha (Anambra)

Government Secondary School, Borikiri (Rivers)

Government Junior Secondary School, Wakili Bawa, Ungoggo LGA (Kano)

Baptist High School, Ede (Osun).
