In a letter addressed to Hon. Adesoji, a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing the Ifelodun-Boripe-Odo-Otin (IBO) Federal Constituency, the Agunbe Descendants Union of Ikirun has called for a detailed performance report and record of achievements during his time in office.

The union stated that their request is rooted in their constitutional right as constituents to understand the contributions and impact of their elected representative.

“This request aims to help us understand the work you have done and its impact on our community,” the letter read in part.

The group outlined specific areas of interest, beginning with projects facilitated within the constituency. They asked: “What specific projects have you facilitated within our constituency so far? How many of these projects have directly benefited the people of IBO federal constituency?”

In addition, the union demanded transparency regarding the use of constituency allowances. “What funds have been allocated for community development in our constituency, and how have these funds been utilised?” they queried.

The letter also raised questions about Hon. Adesoji’s legislative involvement on behalf of the constituency. “How many motions have you raised in the House on behalf of our constituency? What specific issues or challenges have you addressed that directly relate to the needs of the IBO federal constituency?”

Emphasising that the request is not intended as criticism, the union stated: “This request is not meant to criticise your efforts but to gain clarity on your achievements and promote transparency. As citizens, we have the right to ask questions and expect a comprehensive report on how our representative has served us.”

Concluding the message on a constructive note, the union expressed anticipation for a positive response, adding: “We are eager to learn about the positive impact you’ve made and encourage you to share your successes with the community.”

The letter, signed by the Agunbe Descendants Union, reflects a growing demand among Nigerian constituents for openness, accountability, and active communication from their elected leaders.
