Gunners move four points behind Liverpool with comeback derby win in North London Derby
Arsenal closed the gap to Premier League leaders Liverpool with a 2-1 comeback victory over Tottenham in a thrilling North London derby at the Emirates Stadium.
The win moved the Gunners to just four points behind the top spot, enhancing their title aspirations.
Despite dominating possession early on, Arsenal found themselves behind for the third time in eight days when Tottenham took the lead.
Heung-Min Son’s deflected strike from the edge of the box found the back of the net, sending Arsenal into the break trailing 1-0.
However, Arsenal responded dramatically in the second half. Gabriel’s header, following a corner kick, equalized for the Gunners, despite some controversy over the ball.
Just minutes later, Martin Ødegaard assisted Leandro Trossard, whose shot beat Spurs goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky to complete the turnaround.
Tottenham, now in 13th place, have struggled with form, securing only one league win since November. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s victory puts them in strong contention for the Premier League title.
