IGP visits Enugu to bolster security, strengthen partnerships

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has commenced a two-day official visit to Enugu State on January 3, 2025, focusing on enhancing security and fostering collaboration with regional stakeholders.
Accompanied by senior officers, including DIG Frank Mba, AIG Godwin Aghaulor, and AIG Kwazhi Bzigu Dali, the IGP aims to address key security challenges in the South-East region, according to a statement by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi,Force Public Relations Officer.
During his visit, the IGP held a courtesy meeting with the Governor of Enugu State, H.E. Dr. Peter N. Mbah, where discussions emphasized strategies to fortify the state’s security framework and safeguard lives and property. He reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to peace, security, and proactive measures tailored to Enugu State’s needs.
The IGP also engaged with the Enugu Council of Traditional Rulers, led by Chairman His Royal Majesty Igwe Samuel Asabo. He highlighted the pivotal role of traditional institutions in community-based security and encouraged their sustained collaboration to tackle local challenges effectively.
Addressing officers and personnel during his visit, the IGP stressed the importance of discipline, professionalism, and empathy in law enforcement. He urged officers to uphold exemplary conduct, ensuring respectful and citizen-centered policing practices.
