IGAD hosts regional experts’ talks on Red Sea and Gulf of Aden
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) convened a two-day regional experts’ dialogue aimed at fostering multidisciplinary policy-focused research and analysis on the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The event, held at the IGAD Regional Centre for Sustainable Development (IGAD RESGAS) office, centered on two key themes: “cohesion, collaboration, coordination, and partnership” and “socioeconomic development” in the region.
During the second day of discussions, panelists, comprised of experts from the maritime sector, delved into critical policy issues concerning maritime security and terrestrial challenges in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
The dialogue sought to address pressing concerns and formulate policy options and recommendations to enhance the stability and prosperity of the region.
The workshop, facilitated by IGAD RESGAS, brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers, and practitioners, to exchange insights and expertise.
Panelists offered valuable perspectives on the complex dynamics shaping the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and strategic partnerships in addressing shared challenges.
