Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has suggested that the Arsenal have had an “easy” run in the Premier League title race.

Guardiola’s comments come as City and Arsenal prepare to face off at the Etihad Stadium, with just one point separating the two sides in the table.

As Arsenal looks to win their first Premier League title since 2004, Guardiola has now implied that the Gunners have a point to prove and asserted that they have “something special” going for them.

He told the UK Guardian: “To fight for one title that you haven’t won for many years is “wow, it is easy.”

“We have been here for many, many years – and we are still there.

“I have said it a 1000 million times, the biggest success of this club is that after many years still we are there – and people cannot imagine how difficult it is.

“We are the benchmark for the new generations in this club because (what we have done) is really really good.”

Manchester City, bidding for a fourth successive title, have won 12 of their past 13 league matches against Arsenal, with their only defeat a 1-0 loss at Emirates Stadium earlier this season.

The defending champions are also after their record to complete back-to-back Trebles, with a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid and FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea coming up.
