Paris: Three people injured in fresh knife attack – Police
At least three people were left wounded after a knife attack early on Saturday in the Gare de Lyon rail station in Paris, police said.
They said they had arrested the suspected attacker whose identity has not been disclosed.
Police confirmed that two of the victims suffered light wounds while the third was deeply hurt.
The reason for the attack has not been ascertained.
France has suffered a series of extremist militant attacks in recent years.
Similar incidents have also been recorded through assaults by people with mental challenges.
In December one person died while others were injured after three tourists were stabbed near the Eiffel Tower, a leading tourist attaraction in France.
The BBC also reported that six people were injured after a stabbing at the capital’s Gare du Nord in January last year.
On October 13, 2023, one teacher was killed and another wounded in a knife attack at a high school in the northern French town of Arras on Friday.
