Gaza: Mosques, churches destroyed as death toll passes 13,000

Authorities in Gaza say the death toll in the Israeli attacks on the besieged enclave since October 7 has climbed to 13,000, including over 5,500 children and 3,500 women.

In a statement, the media office in the besieged enclave also explained that the numbe

r of injuries has gone beyond 30,000, with more than 75% of them being children and women.

The number of missing persons also reached 6,000, with most of them suspected of lying under the rubble of the destroyed buildings.

It added that 83 mosques have been destroyed, while 166 of them were damaged. Three churches were also targeted in the onslaught.

With more than 43,000 housing units completely demolished, authorities say about 60% of the residential units in the Gaza Strip have been affected by the bombardment.

25 hospitals and 52 health centers have also gone out of service since the attacks were launched.

The administration in the besieged enclave said it held “Israel and the international community fully responsible for the ongoing crimes in the Gaza Strip.”

It urged the international community “to press for an end to this war and these crimes, which shame humanity.”
